Gentlewoman No. 9

A Gentlewoman of Chidoriya

No. 9

Who are you?

I am Caitlin Cantrell, a ballet teacher and fitness lover. I also love all things health and wellness. I am definitely a dreamer and a doer, no matter how crazy the dreams might be.

Where are you from originally?
I am originally from Baltimore, MD! (Go Ravens!)

How did you start and how did you get to where you are now?
Please kindly share your story...
I started dancing at the age of 4 and it manifested into a 5-6 day a week passion. I went to The University of the Arts and graduated with a degree in Dance Education. I lived in NYC and danced professionally and for the last 5 years, I have enjoyed sharing my love of dance with my students.

What is your current project and do you have any new projects you will be working on in the near future?
Right now my newest project is getting the kids ready for the end of the season, Extravaganza! This is the culmination of all of the hard work they have been putting in since September. Then after a few week's break, we're back for summer classes and then working on our first Nutcracker! This will be a huge undertaking for me, but I am very excited!

What is the most important thing for you working in your industry?
I absolutely love training kids to be great dancers, but I think the most important thing we can do as dance educators is to teach kids how to be amazing people. Teach them to clap for every performance, to cheer on their teammates, to lift each other up, to make meaningful connections, to always show respect, and most importantly to remember you're always a student! My boss always says "when you're green, you're growing, when you're ripe, you rot." You can always learn more and improve your craft, no matter how old or experienced you are.

What makes you smile?
So many things! But mostly helping others achieve their goals, that's huge for me.

What makes you cry?
I cry when I'm happy for people, there's just something to be said about being able to experience someone else's true happiness.

What is your favorite number?
My favorite number is 4.

If you had a superpower, what would you do?
I would love to be able to fly. I went skydiving last year for the first time and absolutely loved it! It was an incredible (and almost out of the body) experience!

What else is on your mind?
I am looking forward to summer days. I'm hoping to really dive into some personal projects I've been waiting to start!

You are our dear client for a while now. Which item is your favorite?
I LOVE the Hydrating Silk & Rice Bran Soap. I also love the Brightening Eye Serum. Those are the 2 things I cannot go a day without!

Any favorite quote?
